MEDINA, Ohio — Every day is Christmas for a cat or kitten who has been rescued and adopted.
Since Kitten Krazy Krazy, Inc. was founded by Wendy Mirrotto in May 2004, it has cared for and found homes for thousands of stray, abandoned, lost and unwanted cats and kittens in Medina County and its surrounding communities.
The non-profit relies solely on donations and adoption fees and has several fund-raising events. Dec. 14, the public was invited to the 2024 Christmas Cookie Bake Sale and Pet Tree Lighting Ceremony. It was a chance to pet kitties, buy cookies by the pound and help a worthwhile cause.
Visitors could purchase a red or green ribbon to be placed on the official tree to honor their pets. While some cats were wandering in the facility or sitting on warm laps, the volunteer elves were helping herd them away from the cookies, which covered several large tables. Visitors put on gloves, got a box and could select from dozens of different home-baked cookies – even Grinch cookies were available, and they were green.
Some visitors came just to see the cats and maybe to adopt one to make the holiday even more special. It’s not too late to donate or to adopt a furry friend. Kitten Krazy is located at 930 Lafayette Road – Unit A. It’s open from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
