TRUCK AND ANOTHER VEHICLE AS WELL. ALSO BREAKING THIS MORNING, ONE PERSON AND THREE CATS FORCED OUT OF THEIR HOME AFTER A FIRE IN THE EAST END. THAT FIRE STARTED ABOUT 1045 LAST NIGHT ALONG EASTERN AVENUE. INVESTIGATORS TELL US IT SPREAD UP TO THE ATTIC, AND FIREFIGHTERS HAD ISSUES GETTING THE FLAMES UNDER CONTROL BECAUSE SEVERAL PAINT CANS IN THE HOME KEPT FUELING THE FIRE. THEY ALSO SAY THERE WERE SIGNS OF HOARDING, MAKING IT HARD TO ENTER THE HOME. CREWS ON SCENE INITIALLY TOLD US TWO PEOPLE WERE DISPLACED, BUT THEY GAVE AN UPDATE SAYING IT WAS JUST ONE PERSON. One person is displaced after a house fire broke out in the East End late Thursday evening.Fire crews were dispatched to the 4300 block of Eastern Avenue around 10:45 p.m. for a report of a house fire, fire officials said.When they arrived, crews spotted a fire in the back of the house, spreading from the basement to the roof. Firefighters used a chainsaw to remove a fence in order to gain access to the backyard. They also had issues entering the home due to hoarding conditions, according to officials.The fire spread into the home and up to the attic, being fueled by paint cans, before crews were able to extinguish it from outside.All residents were able to safely evacuate the home, along with three cats that were rescued.Crews are still working to put out any hot spots. The building department and the American Red Cross were also called to the scene.There is an estimated $200,000 in damage. The Cincinnati Fire Investigation Unit is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
