CHARDON, Ohio (WOIO) – A fire at a Chardon apartment building killed two cats Friday.
The fire happened at Maple Ridge Apartments on Water St.
The fire was located in a unit on the second floor.
There were no injuries the occupants were not home at the time of the fire.
One person was transported for a non-fire-related medical issue.
Kirtland, Concord, Munson, and Hambden fire departments provided mutual aid on the scene.
The Geauga Fire Investigation Unit is trying to determine the cause.
The fire displaced tenants in eight apartments. The Red Cross was called to assist with those residents.
